The fossa mainly lives in the tropical rain forests on the East coast of Madagascar. The forest in which the fossa resides in has many trees, so this is where the fossa stays most of the time. These forests also have many lemurs, which is good for the fossa as they are its main source of food. Aside from lemurs, the fossa also eats many other small mammals that live on the floor of the forest. The climate of the forest is tropical, and it is one of the places that receives the most rainfall in Madagascar.
